So I'm not a huge blog gamer, but Kelsey from Authentically Me let me play along with this cute little #. If you wanna play along too, which you will, because it's just plain fun and you have no chores to do today since you're so dang on top of everything, just leave a comment and I will assign you a letter. Then you post about it on your blog and list 10 things that you love that begin with your assigned letter. Then you can allocate letters to others like "Q" and "Z" just because. Sounds fun, no?
My letter is "C".
So without further ado:
1.Clementine.
How fitting that I would receive her initial as my letter. I love my girl. Her eyes, her semi-gummy smile, that button nose! I relish every open-mouthed kiss she gives me, whether it be on my cheek, lips, or ear. She is my little doll, the precious baby girl that I had been waiting for my entire life. She makes me smile for no reason at all, and she inspires me to be a better mother. Plus she gobbles up all the food I make her and she has never, not even once, complained.
2. Chocolate.
Anyone who knows me, knows of my fondness for cho-co-la-te. I am obsessed with it. I want to bathe my body in its' delectable sweetness while I sip chocolate champagne in an edible chocolate goblet. See, I am addicted to this stuff, and even though I list it as one of my "loves" here, it isn't really fair because I have no choice to love it or not. It consuuuuuuumes me.
3. Christmas
Really, the anticipation of this holiday is more exciting than the holiday itself, but getting dressed up, going to church, visiting with family, having Santa talks with the kids, Santa letters, Santa pictures, cookies, holiday music playing at the stores a month before, wrapping paper, sneaking presents under the tree on Christmas Eve, leaving cookies for Santa--are what makes this a contender on my list. I mean, who doesn't love Christmas???
4. Champagne
Enough said.
5. Color
I love color. My family thinks I'm nuts for the amount of times I've painted my house, but I can't stand a beige room. My only problem is the ideas I have for wall colors look better in my head than on my walls. Nevertheless, it's always fun to envision a colorful space, and my past disasters are never going to prevent me from painting more walls in the future. Plus--color is so much more interesting. Remember when yearbooks used to be in black and white and only the Seniors got color portraits? That sucked, was completely uninteresting, and so does a life w/o lotsa color.
6. Catnaps
If I could take a nap every single day I totally would. In a perfect world, I would lay down with Miss C every day at 3 and take a 45 minute siesta so that I would have enough energy for homework help, finishing the laundry, playtime with the boys, cooking a well-balanced meal, and plenty of downtime with my Bobby....if you know what I mean...
7. Coziness
Probably my favorite article of clothing right now is a big blue and white fluffy robe that my mom gave to me years ago. The robe screams everything but sexy, but I don't care because it is this robe that keeps me warm on cold mornings getting the boys ready for school, and snug and toasty by the fire on marshmallow nights.
8. Compassion
I don't know if this qualifies as a personality trait or what, but this may be my favorite one if it is. Sebbie's compassion makes it difficult for him to see a bug squashed, and as much as I despise insects, it's sweet, and I wouldn't change that part of him for the world.
9. Camera
Since I am obsessed with using this object so often, I'll qualify that as love just as I did with #2.
It is incredibly complex, and I don't understand much of it, but maybe, just maybe, if I keep trying, someday I'll grasp the complexities of this little mechanism.
10. California
I got married in Napa.
Our annual vacation to San Diego.
Disneyland.
San Francisco.
Just a few reasons why California rocks, and not to mention....the beach is only 6 hours away.
Everytime I'm there, I wonder why I live here. So beautiful. If it weren't for those earthquakes, I'd probably live in San Fran and take my kids on mini-tours of Northern Cal every weekend just because I could.
So there it is. My list of "C" loves. I'm sure I missed something extremely important, but these list games are time-consuming as it is, and I don't have the time to think too hard about it. Ok, I do, but I have these two little children at home, see? One would like me to read to him, and the other wants some food.
So I think I'm done.
