A song for Clemmie

Everytime I hear this song, I think, "This is so Clementine." She's just a year old, but this song is all hers.

"Ribbons Undone" - Tori Amos

She's a girl
Rising from a shell
Running to spring
It is her time it is her time
Watch her run with ribbons undone

She's a rose in a lily's cloak
She can hide her charms
It is her right there will be time
To chase the sun with ribbons undone

She runs like a fire does
Just picking up daises
Comes in for a landing
A pure flash of lightening
Past alice blue blossoms
You follow her laughter
And then she'll surprise you
Arms filled with lavender

Yes my little pony is growing up fast
She corrects me and says
"You mean a thoroughbred"
A look in her eyes says the battle's beginning
From school she comes home and cries
I don't want to grow up Mom at last not tonight

You're a girl
Rising from a shell
Running through spring
With summer's hand in reach now
It is your time
It is your time
So just run with ribbons undone
It is your time yes my angel
It is your time
So just run with ribbons undone

Run run darlin'
Ribbons undone

Wanna hear it? It's on my playlist at the bottom of the page.
So, so beautiful!

Funny how so many songs remind me of my kids. I have one special song for each, but so many others spark a little something inside me that makes me feel all mushy and gooey and I just wanna go grab them out of school and kiss them in front of their friends and tell them how much I love them. I've actually contemplated doing that one day with Sebbie. The urge was so strong, but I decided to wait 'til after school cause I didn't want Teacher to think things were amiss at the homefront...

One of these days, though...one of these days...

Oh you've got me all weepy. I was at the school today for an assembly. I listened to this mom or that mom wondering what they will to with their little "monsters" for the whole summer long... All the while I was jumping for joy inside. I love my baby birds to be safe in the nest with me and Marc-a-Roni. Every few months we play Hookie from school to play. Great Memories!

I love the "playing hookie" idea.

I think i'm gonna steal it--they'll think it's a hoot!!

:-)

Yah, I'm looking forward to summer, too!

Museums, swimming, popsicles, staying in jammies all day long---can't wait!
