June 23

Random facts about today that would not otherwise be noted anyplace else on this earth but this here blog:

I played Uno with my boys earlier and still don't know what the 4 blank cards are for. The instructions didn't say, and I didn't bother googling it even though I said I would.

It looks like it could be a very cool day outside, but in fact, it is 104 degrees outside and climbing. I have to go to Costco and Target with the kids in a bit, and who the hell wants to go outside in that nastiness?

I looked at the can of hot pink paint that has taken up home in my hallway and actually considered opening it up. For Pete's Sake! It's been sitting there for over a month now, probably longer. I have big ideas for that powder room, but it must be the sun or something quirky going on inside my mind, because ideas are just that without any motivation.

I listened to that really popular Jason Mraz song about 5 times in a row today. I put Sebbie in charge of the iPod, and that's what I get. Funny thing is I used to love that song before it was famous, then hated it cuz it got played out bigtime, and now I love it again cuz Sebbie does. See what mommyhood does to me? I get all sentimental and shiz.

I feel like I'm pregnant because I'm tired as hell for no particular reason at all. I went to bed at 9:30 last night and missed the ending of Harry Potter just to still feel tired today!

Ethan is still wearing his jammies. It's almost 4.

I let Sebbie eat watermelon in my bedroom while he read the last chapters of his book. GASP! (eating anywhere other than the kitchen is a no-no, so it was kind of a big deal) I opened the blinds for him and turned on the pool waterfall outside so he'd have nice ambience...yunno, pretend like he's at some resort or on some island somewhere--like that. It works for me! When he was finished we laid in my bed together and had a wonderful talk. I held him and didn't let go 'til he did.

I tried reading my camera's instruction manual at Seb's doctor appointment, but my hand kept grabbing my Lamott book from inside my purse and opening it up to the exact page I was on! Impressive what my hand can do, I know.

I drizzled chocolate over cream puffs and ate them with my boys. They were sinful and I don't care. In fact, when I go to Costco I'm thinking about grabbing a slice of pizza just because I feel like it.

I have tons of laundry to do, but I'm waiting for later to start so I can watch The Real Housewives while I fold clothes.

I'm gonna make cookie dough for the kids' lemonade stand on Friday. I told Sebbie we can sell a bag of 2 cookies and a cup of lemonade for 50 cents. He was all, "Mommy....50 cents?" And I'm like, "What? Do you think that's too much?" Then he said, "No! You should sell each cookie for 50 cents! Mommy----your cookies are REALLY good!"

Such a good boy.

Such a good boy.
