Happy Father's Day!

For my Dad--my official tucker-inner as a kid. Thank you for waking me with a song, especially a Beatles one--it's forever etched in my memory along with you opening up my blinds to start me on my day. "Time to wake up and dance to a song that was a hit before your mother was born.." Thank you for keeping me home so much as a kid just so we could hang out together--running errands with you was so much fun, especially as we sang our "memory song" in your old white Chevy. Thank you for all your hugs and kisses, and telling me how beautiful I was all the time. Thank you for my eyes and my little lips--I always liked it when I was little and people would say, "You look so much like your dad!!" Thank you for reading as much as you did, and although you wish you didn't read so much when we were kids, I'm glad you did because you showed me the joy of reading for pleasure. Thank you for loving my babies. Thank you for loving my husband. Thank you for the down payment on my first car. Freedom! Yes! Thank you for your sentimentality, and never being afraid to cry. Thank you for always loving me, and always taking the time to call or visit. Thanks for being my dad and for always being there no matter what. I'm so thankful I have you in my life! I love you--has anybody here? wink.

For my Bobby--my best friend. Thank you for being exactly who you are. Our children are so lucky to have you as their Daddy, and sometimes you don't give yourself enough credit, so I'm gonna give it to you today. Thank you for making parenthood so much fun even when it's so challenging. Thank you for being the most honest and ethical person I have ever known--our children will benefit from that, and I'm glad you are the daddy they have to look up to. Thank you for showing our kids a love for nature, beautiful clouds, and amazing sunsets. Thank you for giving them all the hugs and kisses for no reason and holding them in your arms when we watch movies together. Thank you for getting down and playing with them as much as you do--they won't forget that. Thank you for being Seb's daddy. Thank you for all the fun trips we take, and the way you play with the kids on the beach. You're the funnest daddy ever. Thank you for all the time you take explaining math concepts to Sebbie, and how you go above and beyond to make sure he really gets it. Thank you for giving me Ethan and Clementine--and the fact that you gave me a boy and girl is just bonus and gravy, I tell you. Thank you for coming home and letting the boys jump on you. I know you're tired, and when they jump on you with their excited faces, I just think how amazing you are. Because you are and I love you.
