Groundhog Day

8:45 p.m.

(Walking down the stairs after stories and kisses)

Me: We really need to get the kids down sooner...
Him: I know.

9:30 p.m.

Me: How long are you gonna be (on the computer?)
Him: Not long, let's not stay past 10:30.
Me: Ok. (I'm working on Facebook, Perez, and NPR, anyway.....)

10:40

Him: Honey, let's go the the room.
Me: Ok, hold on....I can't figure out Squarespace! WHAT?? I have to PAY to keep a blog on there! FORGET IT!!!

11:30

Me: I thought you said let's go to the room.
Him: Let's go! Let me just finish up this email really quick.....China just got online.
Me: Aye dios mio!!!

12:01

Me: Really? Really Bob? ONE email, huh??
Him: Ok, let's go to sleep.
Me: Ok, but I need your opinion on this (hotel/web design/stupid FB comment/fill in the blank, cuz it's always something!!!)
Him: Let me see....

12:31 a.m.

Him: Let's get out of here! I'm exhausted!
Me: Why do we always do this to ourselves! I'm going to be miserable tomorrow, watch. Let's not do this anymore, ok?
Him: I know, ok. We'll be in bed by 10 tomorrow.
Me: Can't wait!!

This is sad little mental trick we play on ourselves everyday, as we both know we will not be in bed at 10 the following evening. I don't know why we play this game, it's not fun, doesn't give away prizes, and is an outright LIE! Okay, maybe "lie" is a little harsh, because we do have the best intentions as we sit down at our desks.........1 hour only.....1 hour only.....
I suppose good intentions count for something.

But I'm tired again this morning. We need to get out of this "Groundhog Day" nightmare and on at least a few days of the week, GO TO BED EARLIER.

This is what I want for Christmas.

You hear that, Bobby? Nothing but sleep. Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy.

HA! That sounds familiar to me too, except it's me talking to myself... Brandi, you need to go to bed. Okay, Brandi, you're right. I'll just read one more blog and then I'll go to bed! (hee, hee)
