He woke with balloons, a giant Toblerone bar, and Mommy kissing his face. His alarm usually wakes him for school, so it was a treat for me, too! He smiled with his eyes closed as I hugged him and sang "Happy Birthday" to him in bed.
He's 6 years old.
Tomorrow we will celebrate.
But today, I will take cupcakes to him and his classmates and they will say "Hi Mrs. Vasquez!" all the while eyeing the confectionaries in my hands. He will be so glad to see me and my bag of Chick-fil-A. I will be so happy to see his shining face.
I loved 5. I mean, I really loved him at 5.
But I know 6 will be so much fun, too.

Aw, hope he had a wonderful birthday. Can't believe our boys aren't that far apart in age from each other. January is a special month for the both of us it seems. :)
