Every year I tell myself we're going to color eggs a couple days before Easter so I'm not caught at the last minute fussing over the newest dye kits or whether or not we bought enough eggs. We did not, by the way - 3 dozen doesn't go very far with 3 kids who have a really awesome Tye-Dyed coloring kit to try out. BUT - they had a great time anyway, AND - Grandpa came to hang out, so that was just bonus and gravy.
Clemmie spilled the green dye all over her legs and the table, but all was well once I gave her a little bowl of sliced pears to help her forget the mess. She quietly ate her fruit and only at the very end when there were maybe three eggs left, did she color some more. She loved it - and she was so cute with just a diaper on twirling her eggs in the colored water just like her brothers.
The next day at my sister's was spent eating way too much, playing Apples to Apples, eating way too much, and a crazy ridiculous confetti egg extravaganza. My poor sister's driveway was completely covered in confetti, but the kids had so much fun - I think it was worth it. Although I didn't clean it, so I guess I can't really say for sure. Thanks, Erica - for allowing all that! This definitely would have been the year for the park with all that mess! My mom and sister Anna are the bestest in the westest for saving up their eggs all year long - and then SHARING with everyone who is too lazy to do the same. Like me!
The day was beautiful, although a little warm for my taste. It was a perfect day for an egg hunt and as my boys would discover, a dip in the pool in freezing cold water!
Later that evening after we came home, I carried Clemmie to her bedroom to change into jammies and clean her sugar-coated teeth. She was sleeping, so I was trying to be quiet, and then I heard the unmistakable noise of the fire alarm yelling at us to change its' battery. UUUGGGGHHH!!! And it was the one in her room! You have got to be kidding me. Here I was, trying so desperately to keep things quiet so I only had to disturb her a little bit, but nooo-ooooo. Bobby had to come up with the ladder, change it out - which is an even louder high pitched beep, and it seemed to take forever! It didn't, really. Probably less than a minute - but it felt like an eternity as I covered her ears and prayed she wouldn't fully wake.
Well, she woke of course - fought me as I brushed her teeth, and demanded a book. I thought it was gonna be an easy-peasy bedtime. Little did I know.
I don't think he's seen the "magic words" on the egg yet.
Sebbie making a funky tie-dyed egg.
Concentrate, Baby.
We'll have more eggs next year, kiddo. Promise.
Happy to be part of the coloring crew, even for a little while.
Grandpa having fun with them. It was extra-special having him over.
Daddy and his Girl.
Dang, they're cute!
The Hunters.
Her first "official" egg hunt on her own. Such a big deal! AND she won one of two $20 prizes. Ethan won the other! Lucky kids I have!
The egg I made her.
Beautiful Clementine.
It's not easy writing in clear wax. Kinda like writing in the sky and making someone guess what you wrote. Did you used to do that as a kid? Or was that just me??
Mirella Belle covered in confetti.
Grandpa the Sitting Duck. Dozens of eggs were cracked on his head, I think.
You were a Good Sport, Dad.
Clemmie picking up the confetti. She wanted more on her head.
The kids behind her were having way too much fun.
It was a good day.
Even though I'm still not feeling myself, it was good.
Even though Clemmie had a hard time going back to sleep after the fire alarm charade, it was good.
Hope Everyone had a Happy Easter.

What a sweet post! Isabella is always fighting me when I brush her teeth, too.
I miss the confetti eggs! We always had them when we lived in San Antonio--we may have to visit Texas next year to the in-laws--the girls would love it!
Great pics--you're an amazing photographer.

Looks like y'all had a blast this Easter! I'm so happy we didn't do confetti eggs this year. They're always a pain to get out of my hair. Ha!!!
