He turns nine years old today at 11:07 pm, to be exact. I think I will have a little moment of silence tonight at that hour, close my eyes, and think back to that moment when I first saw his tiny face. He was a wee munchkin, that's for sure, but he was perfect.
It's hard to believe that nine years have passed since our first meeting. I was 19, scared, overwhelmed, and completely in love with him. I would marvel at every single thing he did, and I swore he was the most beautiful baby I had ever seen. He's still in my top three. :-)
Since that day, he has completely mastered the following 4 skills:
1. Talking--well, of course--but about all the important things that nine-year-olds talk about like millions of "what if" and "imagine if" questions--it makes for very interesting conversation.
2. Eating--he's amazing at this one. He can actually eat about 15 times a day! What a champ! Honestly, he will be eating us out of home in approximately 3 years, maybe 4. Yikes.
3. Sleeping--any kid that stays asleep with loud-as-heck Daddy Toothfairy has got to have mastery at this skill. Score one more for B-Boy. Let's score one for Daddy, too, for all his beautiful attempts at Fairy-ness. Love you--muah!
4. Playing--He can play army guys like no other! And I LOVE it that he still wants to. If I let him, I think he can sit in front of the Playstation for hours. But of course, I would never do that!
And aside from the obvious ones stated above, he has mastered about 5 million more. I won't mention them here, because I'd hate to make anyone jealous, but yeah, he's awesome.

So here's to B-Boy's Birthday--may it be shiny and bright and filled with chocolate-covered kisses with root beer on top. I love you son.
I love you. I love you. I love you.
