My baby is now a member of the "I'm good-looking even with glasses on" club. He looks great--and I'm so relieved that he's actually excited about them. I was already prepared for a breakdown of some sort as the thought of wearing them to school and getting teased entered his mind. It never happened, though. He simply stated that if someone decided to be a typical 3rd grade asswipe (my words, not his) and say something negative, well, he would just ignore it. Thank God! Now I won't have to go up to some chump after school and knock his teeth out for teasing my kid `a la Rebecca de Mornay in the Hand That Rocks...
So he peered into the mirror, looked at himself, smiled, and said...
"I really like the way I look!"
Yay! Priceless! Perfect!
Ethan, on the other hand, was not so sure. Before we left to pick up the new spectacles, he whispered in my ear, "I'm gonna miss the old Sebbie. The one that doesn't wear glasses."
As if they're sewn into his face!
Don't worry, ET. He's still there. Promise. Just wait til after school....you'll see.
