But it was a good one.
It lasted two days instead of one, which was nice. It's always a bonus to have a little sugar on top.
Day 1:
Friday, Bobby came home with a dozen roses each for me and Miss C. He then took me and her to dinner at a cute restaurant called "Sautee". The food was good, but the bread...oh the bread was to die for. I seriously could've eaten just the bread that evening, but I felt kinda funny asking the waitress more than once for more dinner rolls, so I only had 3. Clementine had the most "table food" ever that night, eating mashed potatoes and lotsa bread like Mommy. She loved it.
And where were the boys?? ET's school had the wonderful idea to have a pre-Valentine's night for the kids with games, movies, and snacks so mom and dad could go out for the evening.
Brilliant! Thanks so much ET's school!!!!
Day 2:
On Saturday, I decided a day at the park was how I wanted to spend my Valentine's. So we all headed to AJ's, bought some yummies, and hung out all afternoon on our blanket atop a large hill. There were sweets to be savored, playgrounds to be played upon, airplanes to fly, hills to be rolled down, and laughter to be made. It was a perfect (and sometimes chilly) day.
When we got home that night, we gave the boys their valentines, and then we feasted on strawberries and chocolate fondue. It was the sweetest end to a love-filled day!

Valentine's for this girl meant sliding down the slide for the first time, eating a "Bullet" popsicle with Mommy, devouring potato salad, sleeping next to Mommy on a blanket, and giving everyone lotsa kisses...
Valentine's for this man meant eating a Kobe burger, figuring out the remote-control plane, suffocating bees so Mommy wouldn't spaz out, throwing the football with Sebbie, and kissing Mommy lots.
Valentines for these guys meant cinnamon rolls, taking spurs out of their shirts, flying an airplane and totally loving it, and many attempts of trying to slide down hills on large blocks of ice.
And the lady nursing the baby under the blanket? Well, Valentine's was spent with her family, and that made the day just tooth-achingly sweet.
