It's been way too long since I've left this city. I have been aching to get out of here, to refresh my senses, and to revive my soul. Sure, the weather here in Gilbert is beautiful right now, but there has been a longing inside of me lately that wants me to jump on an airplane and just---go. Somewhere. Probably someplace European, however, I'd take S. America, too. But since that is impossible at the moment, road trips, especially short ones, can be an inexpensive way for me to pretend to be somewhere far and romantic. So on Saturday, in order to be faraway and adventurous, that's what me and la familia did.
We didn't go far, just a couple hours north to the little town of Jerome. Now, all I've ever heard of Jerome is that it's an artist's town on a hill, and that was reason enough for me! The hippie inside of me never grows tired of galleries and handmade goods, so it seemed like a perfect escape for a day-long excursion.
It was a charming town. And it was on a hill. It didn't look like it belonged in Arizona, which just made it that much more remarkable.
We ate candy and window shopped.
The boys had fun, and I even got a "Thanks for taking us here, Mommy!" from Seb.
I got some new earrings and other goodies from IH. He's so sweet.
Then we came home.
This was the day before we left for Jerome. But she's so cute, I had to post her!
The park in Jerome.
Waiting for Daddy being silly boys.
I LOVE these guys.
