Friend Makin Mondays

I decided to participate in Kasey's Monday segment from her blog, All That is Good

Today's topic is CONFESSIONS! Scary. I'll try to keep them clean...

1. If I know people are coming over and my house isn't clean, I'll put all the unsightly "junk," dirty dishes included, in a bag in the garage so I have time to make myself presentable. Yuck, huh?

2. I sometimes hide my Ciao Bella sorbet in the back of the freezer so the kids can't see it. It's like $6 for a pint, and I really doubt they could appreciate the wonderfulness that is Ciao Bella, anyway. They'd be just as happy with some generic vanilla with sprinkles from the pantry. Bad Mommy!

3. I shop on Amazon for silly things I probably don't need but tell myself I do. Like just last week I bought a book on how to teach kids about art history - probably didn't need instructions for that, but I thought some help might be nice. It was not a cheap book. Sorry, Bobby. I'll make it up to you later.

4. Speaking of...I often "make it up" to Bobby later if I've overspent, or done something I know I shouldn't have. No details, as I'm sure ya'll can figure that one out, but it gets me off the hook! Sorry if that's TMI!

5. I'm on the computer way too much during the day. In fact, I just made a deal with myself that I am allotted 1 hour in the morning before Miss Clementine is awake, a 1/2 hour in the afternoon, and if Bobby's working in the office after the kids are down for the night, 1 more hour there. I mean, I have 3 babies that need my attention, laundry to be tended to, shopping to be done, and I have been putting off the kids' scrapbooks for so long. Precious hours are being WASTED. I'm over it.

And there you have it. My CONFESSIONS! Have a fantastic Monday!

#1 was too fun! Some friends of our family admitted that once they were having unexpected company and so they threw the dirty dishes outside into a snow drift so the company wouldn't find them. Sort of like a pre-soak, right?

Great list! Your blog is just adorable...consider me your newest follower! :)

Happy FMM!

I hide MY treats from the kiddos and DH sometimes too. And I am so guilty of spending too much time online. But I'm working on it. :) Happy FMM!

I hide my treats all the time, otherwise they will be gone in about 1 hour!

I think it is great that you give yourself a time limit to be on the computer each day- I can definitely tell ya that I am on it way more than that!!!

Have a great week!

Hi Krista,

If I missed your email link somewhere, forgive the long comment!! I do love homeschool! I just started two months ago, but it is wonderful. My kids are 9, just turned 4, 15 months and my fourth is due mid-September. I homeschooled my oldest in 5K. Didn't feel completely ready/have enough confidence to do it then. I've wanted to ever since and just feel "ready" to now, 100%. It isn't easy, I won't lie. But it is so worth it in so many ways! I do not consider myself to be the most patient person by any means, honestly, most of the time I am not a very patient person. And of course it depends on the given day too. Check out my homeschool blog, www.ourhomeschoolfun.blogspot.com. I have my reasons for homeschooling, curriuculums I use and so much more on there. In my sidebar on that blog are so many super sites for homeschool too! I have found lots of people through blogging that I now keep in touch with regularly over the last few monhths that have helped and inspired me to begin homeschool. I wasn't going to start for another year when my oldest was in middle school and even then still planned on sending my youngest to school through elementary years. However, after reading so much and doing so much research on my own, praying and following my heart I decided to start my oldest a year early and not send my younger ones at all. I have gone on long enough. I hope this helps! Feel free to contact me anytime! customblog@gmail.com
