Give thanks. and eat. A lot.

Tomorrow we will be feasting with family at Anna's house. (My eldest sister, who is 14 weeks prego with my baby niece!! First time typing that out! Pretty cool!!!)  My personal contribution to the table is mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. Don't ask me why I volunteered mashed potato duty, since papas are a really important part of Thanksgiving and if I mess them up I'm done for. "Done for" here really means - no one eats them. And how awful would that be? It would be really awful - it's happened to me before, which is why I will never make a fruit salad ever again, thank you very much.

I guess I volunteered because I wanted to be involved in a core part of dinner. Making food for other people just feels kinda good. And besides, it's just another reason to show them that yes - I do know how to cook now. The "baby" has finally figured it out - she wasn't doomed to eating cereal and bagels for the rest of her life.

But now I have a bit of a dilemma. Do I go traditional with the spuds.....lots of salt, butter and milk, or succulent with a dash of cream, garlic, and cheddar? I don't want them to taste like a mashed baked potato with all the fixins, but I want them yuuuuummmmmy.  Maybe I'll do a little bit of all the above.

So - hopefully everything turns out yummy. And if it doesn't? Well, I guess I can bring a pie for backup. Costco has these really huge pumpkin pies right now, and you can't go wrong with Costco, right?

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!!

Peace out, Homies!

LOL! I am designated mash potato person as well. I hope I don't mess it up either. I think I am going to just do a traditional mashed potato bowl and then cross my fingers and HOPE everyone enjoys it.....seriously. ;)

Hope your family has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
