There is a ghost in my neighborhood

Sebastian says so. Just ask him, he'll tell you all about it.

The ghost has taken over the empty house across the street, two houses down. Apparently, the family moved out a while back and why didn't I know this?? I noticed the yard looked a little forlorn lately, but I assumed mom and dad were just really busy with this time of year and the yard had taken a backseat to more important things. They would get around to it eventually.

I was wrong. There was no neglect. The house is empty....and now a ghost has moved in. A ghost that left a bloody fingerprint on a lightswitch (I know, right? Nice.) and moves paper blinds to make children question his existence.

So obviously, Sebastian and three other little boys from the cul-de-sac are fascinated with this supernatural figure they've created out of their imagination found. Surprisingly, Ethan has almost no interest in their discovery and would much rather play in the backyard and talk to the kids that live caddy corner to us via shouting over the block wall. Another story - another day.

Sebbie and his friends, however,  can be found running from "ghost house" on any given day, but especially on Saturdays, yelling and screaming because they heard a noise or saw the fingerprint....again. Literally - like out of a movie.

So, I am amused. I really am. I totally remember being 10 and riding my bike down the street around an old little church completely believing that ghosts were after me. They were just waiting for me and my bike to come through the halls of the church school so they could terrify the living daylights out of me. Although they never did, I believed it then. It was kinda fun - scaring myself and being able to tell stories about it later on to other kids at school with "ghost stories."

And there were plenty of kids with ghost stories, believe me. Is it an Arizona thing? Hmmm....

Anyway, a few days ago, Sebastian came in and tossed a plastic freezer bag on the counter.

"This is my ghost stuff."

"Your what?"

"It's what I use to find the ghosts."

And there you have it.
 My ghostbuster's secret tools.
