Really, it started the night before. We played at Peter Piper Pizza then came home to chocolate cake and lots of wishing.
But not telling.
The next day, friends and cousins came to play. There were crafts, a bounce house, you know it!!! and lots of elephants running upstairs. They made frames so I could put a picture of the party crew inside for them to keep. Which I still haven't gotten around to........
It's on the list, though.
And I've been meaning to so that totally counts for something.
We took them down the street to our neighborhood park and organized sack, wheelbarrow, and 3-legged races, (which, OMG - these kids were NOT having! If only I had a picture of their distressed faces as they examined their "rope burns!") Yikes. Sorry, kids.
Seb won each and every time in his "division" - why is that not surprising?
Daddy in the background getting his victory on tape.
And the little ones are off! It's amazing how much fun a simple race can be to a kid.
Bobby insisted the kids hit the piñata inside the house. Hmmmm.......
Here's Sebbie helping his sister figure out the whole process. I thought she'd hesitate to swing at Spongebob since she likes him so much, but she went for it. I don't know what I was thinking. She has Seb and Ethan for brothers. OF COURSE she's gonna want to swing at it!
So, Ethan loved his party. He told me about a thousand times.
Then he snuck off and ate all his candy.
I thought - scooter. He must've wished for the scooter we got him! How cool!
"So, what did you wish for?!"
"For my cut to be gone!"
"Cut?"
"Yeah, the one I had in my mouth, remember?"
Sigh.
I can only imagine how painful that canker sore must've been for him to use his once-a-year birthday wish on it.
But it came true! And he couldn't have been more proud.
